Ok, how many miles do I need to put on to feel confident I am out of the woods on my rebuild? Put on almost 50 last night and aside from some secondary/belt height issues, nothing seemed wrong. The plugs looked ok this morning. Too tired to look last night.

On a 2 stroke, i always rode it just like I did before I took it apart. Never worried about it. Maxdlx

That makes me feel better. The motor has been started, idled, reved up, run on a stand, etc all before going out. The motor did seem strong. This was my first 2-stroke rebuild so it was a learning experience. (Especially with alot of help from here Daman included.) There was nothing in particular that I was uncomfortable doing, it was just a first is all. I figured that if it ran 50 it should be ok. Granted that doesn't mean I won't have a oil pump fail or crank bearing seize or something else catastrophic, but those would not be rebuilt related and would have happened anyway.

I didn't really have too many places to get on it that hard. Don't get me wrong, I didn't baby it exactly, but there were no lake runs.

Just vary engine speeds without sustained WOT, which is usually not too difficult on a sled.

I did a couple good pulls from a rolling start after about 10 kms on my fresh top-end srx7. I figured the first time it hits 8500 RPM, if it's not right-you'll know.
First time I ever did a top-end too. I used dino oil for the first ten kms(didn't have the sythetic here yet) and switched it to amsoil interceptor.
After 50 miles, I'd say you are good to go.

I used up the rest of the yamalube I had up in the garage. I have a full other gallon but I'm giving that to my uncle-in-law. I'm going to try klotz once this tank is out. I don't think I'll hit 8500, of course if I did, I'm sure something would go. You tripples rev a little higher than my lil' 600 twin.

Daman does tend to know his stuff.

I used amsoil last year and it was noticeble the difference in smoke. It wasn't near as bad or as burning. Of course when you're the 5th sled in line, I don't really benefit from it much. I'll see if I don't smell quite as bad when I use the Klotz. It seemed like both Klotz and Amsoil really jumped in price since last year. I could have sworn they were both mid $20's but not this year...
