i have w-w-w .red secondary ,51-43 dalton helix .8dn-20 with 4.5 both hole .it flash at 8400 and go up to 8600 should i add weight in middle or tips to lower rpm
In the middle, tip is for belt clamping force at WOT. Could try reducing the wrap on your secondary by 10 degrees too.
i'm already at 60 so i doesnt wanna go lower i just wanna know if i should put more weight in middle or tip

Holy crap, I gotta go back and read Mr Viper post on clutching explanations again I guess! Sorry for the wrong info, being as I can't get my own clutching sorted out, I should shut up. Ain't clutching great?

what did you change your gearing to now? I thought you said that yours wasn't over revving at all with the new clutch setup. Gonna have to throw some 5 gram bolt/nut combinations in the tips to get rpms down or go with a more aggressive helix. I used a 54/44 this weekend on mine with GREAT results. Think that is going to stay on there now.

I had luck with 5.5g in the tip (replacing 4.5) this weekend
and was able to put red secondary back to 80 from 60 for quicker backshifting.
I was at 8900, and am now at 8500
so 5g may be perfect for your rpm drop desired
Hauck has the proper weighted bolts ($1 each ) ( the hardware store does too prolly) but Hauck's are guaranteed to fit and not hit. 9better than 3 trips to the hardware store )
been there, done that.......

Gearing: When you change the gearing to a steeper ratio you will usually need to add weight to the front clutch as it does not load the motor as much, the steeper gear moves the sled easier as it multiplys torq more and this relieves the load from the engine, this is why your over revving, go back to the stock gearing and your rpm will drop up at top rpm again. If running shorter distances is what your doin, then steeper gearing will be fine, but youll need to add weight to the primary clutch.
