I Recently Melted A Piston On My Viper I Found Some Corrosion Under The Base Gasket Which I Am Sure I Had An Air Leak In That Cyliner And That Was The Cause Of The Melt Down. Also The Corrosion Ruined The Coating On The Gasket.

Any Way The Service Manager I Talked To At My Dealer After Ruling Out All Causes Being Carbs Fuel Pump Ect. Suggested That Because Im Studded That My Crank Should Be Welded And It May Have Got My Pistons Out Of Wack Causing Detonation And A Lean Condition? I Never Heard Of Such A Thing Is This True Or Is He Nuts!!!!!!!!! Thanks

I bet that will make the service manager blush. Can't even imagine a service manager not knowing that. Get a TY business card from Tom and give it to him. Maxdlx

it already is welded from the factory
Yep, and even if it wasn't welded, once the crank gets knocked out of phase, it doesn't just jump back in phase. It can be checked during teardown.

Sounds like this guy is simply searching for reasons to not enter a warranty claim. I would go down the road as others suggested.
