I heard that when you change your gearing you can adjust how much weight you can run. Is this true? If so if you gear down does it mean that you can run more weight?
yes, steeper gearing takes more load off the engine and you will be able to run more clutch weight.

Ok good, another quick question. I'm a bigger guy about 235lbs, as a bigger guy should I lean towards running lighter weights?

Choose what weight you run based on riding conditions and how you want the sled to run. Once you decide on a weight, add weight to bring down rpms to target or subtract weight to raise them up to target. Heel effects holeshot rpms most and tips effect top end rpms most.
