viper recoil same as srx

well my viper recoil doesn't wind up right sometimes and now that my motor is out i am going to change the recoil. my buddy changed motors in his 1998 srx 700. will the recoil from this sled work in my 02 viper er. they look the same but i haven't really inspected them closely
 

part numbers are different, but honestly i dont know what is different about them. I've never had them side by side but from what i remember they appear the same, bolt patterns and such. Maybe kysledneck will know, i believe he tried putting a viper recoil on his sx and it didn't work for some reason.
 
They will interchange, the bolt pattern is the same, the viper recoil as srxspec said has a larger pulley for decreased pull, and rubber mounted. The engine cases are the same so I know they will interchange as far as bolting up, only thing you need to check on first is the steel peice that bolts to the flywheel, make sure its the same part number, sometimes that peice is longer or shorter due to the rubber mounted recoils on some yamaha sleds.
