Last time I was riding I had a little fender bender and ended up bending the trailing arm, both control arms, and the radius rod on the left side of my 02 Viper. I replaced all the parts and rode another 400 miles on it after that and everything seemed ok. I put it in the garage to go through it before my next trip, and noticed that the running board is cracked in front of and behind the trailing arm mounting bracket. I would normally take it to a friend who has a shop and could probably weld it up with some kind of extra support, but he's gone riding for the next two weeks, and I'm going on a trip next weekend for a week of riding. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

Get a piece of round solid rod just slightly bigger than the curl of the running board, and beat it all the way down in. It will hold till your buddy can weld it. maxdlx

Thanks Max, that's I good idea I hadn't thought of. I think if I do that and maybe rivet a plate over the other crack, I may be ok for the week. If it doesn't hold up I guess I'll just have to ride RX1-Maine's now spare RX1.
