On a short drag (300' or so) on a sparsely covered field, my buddy's totally stock Nytro took 2 SRX's. One completely stock with new 1.25 track and the other with studs and worn 1" track and bender can. I was COMPLETELY shocked. Nytro is heavier, and has less peak HP. I attribute it to the track was ideal for the conditions.
This was repeated 3 times, we traded drivers and the result was the same....
Once we got to the lake on some thicker powder, the SRX's smoked the Nytro. Both takeoff and of course, top end.
Nytro stock seems to be a pretty good frozen grass powder drag sled....
Anyone else shocked?

I a recent mag, the Nytro was the quickest sled out of everything tested in 660', even beat the apex and the mach...Must be the gearing.

Not to mention that the Genesis 120 motor makes more torque than the RX-1 motor did, not sure about the Apex motor.

The nytro gearing is insane for the amount of TQ that 3 cly makes. With traction I don't see many sleds taking it in a short distance. They run out of breath up top though maybe 100mph?

His peak was 90 MPH on the lake. His launch on the lake was worse than either SRX, but not by much.
The 4 stroke thing really has my interest. No mixing oil, he gets about 18MPG, and he can hang on the trail too. Not sure about the "Mary Poppins" seating style though.... Sits too high and looks like a British horseback rider in a show....
If they come out with a 500 HP V8, then I'm in!

That is exactly right. They have a lot of torque and are clutched and geared to take advantage of that. If you get traction they are VERY quick, but NOT fast, they have no top end at all. You would have to work to get a real 90 mph out of them with stock gearing and clutching. But short distances, look out. That being said, my tuned srx smokes both of my buddy's nytro's.

Your #1 performance shop!
The Nytro can be improved alot on with some different clutching as well. The Vector/Rage/Nytro are good running little sleds. Real sleepers if you put a supercharger on them too!

My buddy wants me to mention that the seating arrangement, as silly as it looks, is more comfortable. We just did a weekend of riding in Baldwin (MI) and some of th trails were smoked and so was my back after the bouncing. He didn't seem to be bothered as much. Still looks silly. Pain or look cool ...... as I age, I care less about looking anything like an old cripple pretending to smile as I pop Advil .....
