I have 01 srx, wi'd like reverse but what kit to get??? Part numbers and years would be helpful, I saw the tech article but it provides no part numbers and if anyone has these please let me know!!!! I think all I would need is a viper kit since its an 01 right????

Viper kit will get you the HYVO lower gear which will work with your '01 chain and top gear. If you read the tech article on TY, it talks about fitting the viper reverse with your existing stock pipe.
38T Hyvo reverse kits is: 8EK-W4759-10-00 REVERSE GEAR KIT
39T Hyvo reverse kits is: 8EN-W4759-00-00 REVERSE GEAR KIT
You can use either of these kits. You need to shave the tabs off the outside of the new chaincase cover. You need to slot the mounting bolt for the muffler, and slide it all the way out when remounting. You need to extensively cut the frame of the shifter mechanism to clear interferences, and use spacers and longer bolts to mount this. You are moving it away from the engine to clear other interference. Works great, I did mine in about 5 hours. Grinding/trying/cutting more out of the shifter mechanism is the most time consuming part. Works with stock can/pipes, that's what I have.
You also need to make a "slot" in the hood for the shifter.

which kit will keep the stock gearing, or is it the same kit's' with just a new number?, is there any benefit to the other gearing???? I love the power and how this was set up stock so I'd like to keep it that way.....for now! Thanks you, Dave

THANK YOU!!! do ya know anyone who wants to sell this reverse kit? Or one for a sxr 700 year 2000? I have a bad back and I'm sick of turning these things around, especially my wifes!!! Man with helmet communication ya think see'd keep her on the trail!!!
