Is the Chaincase/chain the same on 97 600 twin and 98 700 triple?
My 700 triple broke(the chain) and I have a 97 600 XTC twin that I am parting out - can I use that chain?
Thanks

The case and cover look to be the same as far as part numbers go, but I believe the 700 is geared taller, the taller gear and chain will still bolt in though.
Try a part number check from the Yamaha parts link on the TY home page, that will tell you for sure.

Simply count the links and width to match up the 2 for the chain, The SRX used a wider chain, I am assuming you are refurring to an SX or XT/C 700?Orv said:Is the Chaincase/chain the same on 97 600 twin and 98 700 triple?

Count the links of the chain and the teeth on the gears. They are the same width so they will just slide right in.
