my 700sx likes to spit out the secondary bushings and is pissin me off! anyone know why it does that and what i can do to prevent it? is it my setup or is something just plain worn out? it has a hauck ported top end, bender triple pipes, split head gasket, 155 main jets, 55 pilot jets, 89l primary weights with the .8 gram rivit, it pulls about 87-8900 rpm then evens out to around 81-8300. secondary has the green spring with what i think was a 70 degree wrap (6 and 1), with what was a 51/45 helix, (i state was because it got a ramp chewed up this time). it was rebuilt twice last year with new bushings and plastic ramp pucks. loctited in the bushings also. the alighnment is good.

the clutches seem to be very hot also, and it let loose in all of our fresh manitoba powder that i was in last night!

this thing just rips when its running right, but is making me mad this year! i think its time to upgrade to a turboed 4-stroke! :nos:

I have a secondary that has repeatedly pushed the bushing out the back, and one time it even took out the jackshaft bearing. What I did to combat this was to peen the secondary over slightly in 3 places to hold the bushing in. It has worked ever since and I have replaced the bushing once since then. You just have to clean the peened spots off and create new ones after the new bushing is in place. I think an overheated secondary started this process.

so peen them in, ya the secondary ran hot when i first got the sled so it might have been the start. and i took out the bearing like you mentioned last time it happened, what a mess to change! the tunnel where the support is was even cracked and i had to have it welded!

thanks a lot, i will try that!
