I've been trying to get my SRX700 running for a couple of days now. It just didn't start the first time I tried in October and hadn't had any reason to work on it until now.
When I went to clean the carbs it appeared the float bowls were full of coolant. All the fuel that came out was a greenish blue color. After cleaning the carbs I pulled it over with the carbs off and the fuel pump seemed to be supplying an adequate amount of fuel. I did this with the exhaust off and it seemed to be spraying some kind of liquid spraying out when i pulled it over, like an excessive amount. It seems like somehow the cases are full of coolant or oil or a mixture of both. If this is the case is there an easy way to get it out without taking everything apart or turning the sled upside-down?
When i did get the carbs back on I couldn't get it to run without priming it with a little gas from a spray-bottle into the carbs. Then it would only run for a few seconds, still seeming like it's not getting fuel into the float bowls.
After cleaning the carbs a second time and priming it to start it finally ran. When it did run it made a ridiculous amount of white smoke and ran really terribly. It was running at around 3k RPM's seemed like it was missing terribly. It would not respond to any throttle input except to backfire and shoot flames out more often. Is this what TORS would make it run like? I tested the switch on the carbs and it seemed like it wasn't working.
I'm really sorry this is so long but I'm almost pulling my hair out, there's so many things wrong I don't know where to start except for replacing the recoil rope that broke after pulling on it probably thousands of times in the last couple of days.
Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
If you have coolant in the base then I'd almost have to say youv'e got either a bad base gasket or a cylinder o ring allowing it to seep in.Either way I'd tear it down and check the crank bearings as I cant see where having them sitting in antifreeze being good for them. You might pm Mr Viper 700(Don) as he could probably let you know what damage coolant would have on the crank bearings.
there is a spring and ball in the fuel pump that sticks and fills the pump with 2-stroke oil. yuo need to clean carbs and disasemble fuel pump and get oil out of it. you will find a plug with a needle and seat that is stuck open, since oil container is higher than fuel pump oil gravity feads into oil pump and then pumps oil into carbs instead of fuel when you turn motor over. either clean or replace fuelpump, its the problem for sure!! if its oil and not coolant!!! if its coolant i woul check seal in waterpump shaft .if the seal goes out it will fill crankcase,or head gaskets could be leaking. start with easiest to get to first.

Thanks for the replies, The parts I needed for the recoil came in yesterday, despite the interstates being closed!
