the new nytro

I bet it's over 20mpg because the carb vector is 18-21 right now so the fuel injection should be better on fuel.

The weight will decide for me. As for the gas. 7 gallons today will take you further than 12 gal 5 years ago...or at least as far.
They know the weight is going to be against them vs the new rev.

Wow!
I believe yamaha nailed this one perfect. A fuel injected 3 cyl. more rear travel, sled is 1 inch lower, more rider fwd and double rear shocks, should be no more bottoming out now. If we consider last years 3 cyl. got 150-180 mile to a tank and yamaha is set this sled's fuel tank to match their other 3 cyl's. then I figure with the fuelie we should be looking at 25 + miles to the gal, pretty da** good. I hope to find one during a showing somewhere soon and if they look as good as the pic's then I'll have one in my garage before the snow flies next season ;)!

Adding this smaller gas tank, may seem great but IMO it is just like our vehicules, I average about 500km in any vehicule i've been driving with a full tank of gas, wether being a dodge pick up truck or a honda civic. smaller tanks means squat, you save at the pumps but the milage you do remains the same............now if they kept the gas tank the same size, then you would definatly notice a big difference in milage..........what you thing?

I don't care if they do get great MPG, i still would like to see a bigger
tank, but hey, you know gota save that weight so you can do an extra
4 MPH...

The mileage will be in the 14-16 mpg area. They designed the sled to have a 100-120 mile range on a tank of fuel. This sled is very comfortable to sit or stand up riding styles. Should be a great sled!

True but look at the Apex engine vs the genesis extreme in the rx1's. The extreme with carbs got better mileage than the fuelie 150 in the apex, but the apex engine is a lot stronger.

Realisticly, a buddy pumping gas next to you could add more fuel to his sled than will fit in yours. Deep thoughts brought to you by a Smurf. LOL

You have to remember, the FX Nytro is not a sled that you buy if you cruise the trails doing 300 miles a day.
The FX Nytro is for messing around and banging the ditches, not for 300 miles a day cruising the trails.
Im sure the magazines will whine about the smaller gas tank on the FX Nytro (they whined last year about the small gas tank on the Phazer).

They had a new Nytro RTX at the Yamaha Demo ride in Brimley on Monday March 5th. We were riding from Paradise that morning and were late getting to Brimley. We arrived only to see all the demo sleds already loaded in the trailer except the Nytro RTX. We could not talk the Yamaha guys into allowing us to ride it, but we were able to sit on it and check it out.

I was riding a REV that I rented because my Viper motor is still in pieces. The seating and bar position felt just like a REV except that the seat and tunnel seemed a bit wider. There was a guy in our group that weighs 250 lbs. plus. When he was walking around on the running boards you could see them flexing. The two Yamaha guys and one girl running the Demo ride could only say that the sled was a prototype and that the running boards should be stronger on the production sleds. I noticed that the Demo sled had a 3 pcs. tunnel and running board set up. It is my guess that the production sleds should have a one pc. tunnel which would be stronger.

Wish I could tell you more. It looks great. Wish I had gotten a chance to ride it! G.B.

At 250+ lbs, i would think anything would flex...

Well that's probably true. That is also a big part of the reason he keeps having to replace rivets and having his F7 tunnel welded all the time.
