Hey guys and gals. I'm new to the forum and new to the Yamaha scene. Alright my first question is about my ski width. My dad use to be a Yamaha man until he bought his Skidoo, and he was telling me about a kit you could buy to widen the skis on older srv's. Where can I find this kit? Now my last question. I made a bracket to lift the tunnel up above the track alittle more. Now i can actually feel the suspension move. So where can i find replacement shocks or performance ones?

Pretty sure the kit is no longer available. I know Bender made one back in the day for the older Vmax 540's. Now it's something you need to fabricate on your own. As far as the shocks go, you get get them ni any of the parts catollogs, or websites. Dennis Kirk , shadetree , etc...
what is the part number for them? or if im just flipping thru will it say 82 srv or is it under another make?

Better to find a Pro action rear suspension from 83 and up SRV or the last years of the EXCITER . The 82 rear didnt have much travel
Check Vmax540´s posts about widening the ski stance on the Vmax 540. I think he can hook you up for the right stuff.

I am pretty sure you could not widen the SRV like the Vamx and Phazers back then
the SRV had a wrap around bumper
I had 89 Exicter struts on my 86 SRV

The wide kit on the SRV put the struts on the outside of the front bumper. You could run an SS440 hood without the strut cut outs. Owned a 83 wide body SRV back in the day.
