I think my power valves may open later than they should but I don't know that for a fact. Sled does have good performance as it hits 120 on speedo on hard packed, but I can actually feel the valves open at 72-76mph, almost like a turbo boost and I wish it would come on sooner!!!! They (power valves) are adjusted to spec and the motor does move when sled ran in the air. Also passes self check in manual. I was wondering if my TPS was out of adjustment as it is adjusted all the way to the left (if looking at it from the clutch area) Can I put my meter on it and get an ohm reading for where it should be at idle and WOT??? What wires to test at if so???? I would like to believe this has a lot to do with the timing of the power valves opening. Maybe I am wrong, but who knows????

the valves are opened a a certain rpm not speed. there are a lot of factors which could chance you're revs and affect you're speed. gearing, clutching. what rpms are you valves opening at? we need more info.

I think the valves open at 6500 or 7000...

Ah thanks for the response, I have to check the rpms they open at, I hate to run it that fast on a stand!!!! I do know the engine when at wot runs around 8400-8500 rpms. I just thought that maybe the tps also had something to do with this. I also thought it was strange that it was mounted all the way to the left, usually you'd think the tps would be in the center of its range. I just wonder what its suppose to be set at, and what wires to ohm out to test. Valves open around 7000??? I guess I'll see if thats around 74mph, that seems to be at BOOST speed I feel.

yea don't run her up like that on a stand, 84-85 is spot on.davessrx said:Ah thanks for the response, I have to check the rpms they open at, I hate to run it that fast on a stand!!!! i think if i remember right my tps is most the way to the right when
looking at it from the clutch side. tps adjusts timing some

TPS only affects timing on partial throttle openings. Mr viper did some testing with this and found that on top end it has no effect on the timing.

The powervalves open at 6800 RPM. Once you grab the flipper wide open the valves are open dang near instantly.

Dave,
I have a small turbo charger hidden in the sled (don't bother trying to find it, its small and hidden very well).
Glad you found this site, always a good information source. The Gade is treating me well after 1200 miles. I sure miss the srx when the trails are like glass though.
