Hey guys, i know i've posted numerous things on here about clutching my sled properly. So far i've got the primary set at 4.8 in the heel, 3.3 in the middle hole, and 5 in the tip. It has 40-10 heelclicker weights in it. When i hit the throttle hard from a dead stop it will rev up to about 8100 or 8200, then it will just sit there. From my reading on this site, i've gotten the impression that the SRX's like to be lugged down to 8100 or so on hard acceleration and then pick up the extra 400 rpm on a longer run. I know i need a new helix and am trying to get a hold of one right now, i've got the stock straight 47 helix in right now with the red spring. I have went out and purchased the green secondary spring as well. I was thinking along the lines of a 50/38 helix from dalton..... Now my questions:

1. With that helix what would be a good weight setup and secondary sprign wrap for radar runs?

2. What would be a good weight setup and secondary spring wrap for drag racing? i've got 144 studs and transfer rods.

I know i've asked a few questions before about clutching setups and helix's, i cannot find any setups other then agressive trail setups in the clutching section.... And i have no clutching experience as to what would be a good place to start for different applications such as drag racing or radar runs. The only reason i'm asking now is that theres radar runs and drag races near my house this weekend coming up and i wouldnt mind going out and seeing what my sled can do. As i said i have access to the red secondary spring, green secondary spring, and the stock 47 helix... and hopefully a new helix sometime this week.... Can I get a good setup out of this stuff?? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

your not gonna get it good with h/c's UNTIL you install that helix and then move the weight to the tip.

stock 47 cam is junk with h/c's

Well i ordered the helix today from the place, hoping it is in by friday or saturday at the latest. Then i guess i'll just tune it at the track.... mrviper is there any tips or tricks that i can use to tune it or a general guideline for putting weight on??

4-5 grams in heel, red primary spring, nothing in middle hole, and 5-6 grams in tip, with that 50/38 helix and green sec set at 70, you should be close with this, watch the tach and let me know in order to make fine tune adjustments.

Hey Skidooslayer

The radar run is in front of my house this weekend and yes there will be alot of big iron there. I'm hoping we will see a 170mph run from Yami-Doo (an old Mach chaisis with a rx1 supercharged motor) lastweekend he ran 167.7mph. There's going to be a apex supercharged thats in the 160's now and a RX1 turbo in the 150's. Some guys from the states are supposed to come up and some big firecats. They are calling it the showdown of the east. I can't wait. I'm having the same problem with overreving and i'm just learning about clutching. With mrvipers recommendation i should be getting a red spring in today, Maybe on the weekend we can help each other out. I think they will be out on Saturday testing. They were there last weekend testing and the big sleds i was told were not coming out until this Sunday. I picked up a speed track lastnight and will be installing it tonight. Send me a PM and we can hookup maybe on Saturday for some testing. The track by the way is Mint
