WAS RIDEING THIS MORNING AND NOTICED THAT I WAS ONLY RUNNING AT 8100RPM AT WOT.SPEEDO READ 98MPH. NOT SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. CURRENTLY I AM RUNNING 47/41 helix with green spring at 60. running hc with 4 gram tip 4 gram heel.had great pull from the whole but seemed to lack at top end. power valves are clean. also i am running a mbrp can. idle is around 1800. any suggestions would be great . :letitsnow

Sounds like you need to loose a little tip weight. More info would be helpful though.

What RPM does it engage at? What does it climb right to 8100? Once it's there is it constant or does it creep a little on the top end (+/- a few RPM)? Would also help to know the type of setup you are looking for: Trail, Lake Race, Mountain?

If you are looking for top speed, loose the can and find a helix with a shallower finish angle like a 34 or 36.

i believe it engages at 3900/400rpm. it climbs right to 8100 and stays. when i let off the throttle going 60mph it will climb back up to 8000/8100/ i am looking for the trail set up. i know the can is costing me too (hp/mph)i got with turk on the clutch set up. i had the helix and he told me what weights and springs to use.

Remove 1 gram tip & heel. That will raise engagement about 300 & get your rpm,s real close. I was just taking a guess at a starting point cus thats not the best helix to use but with those suggested changes it will be close.

if you want to keep the can on it, wrap it in 2 layers of header wrap. helps keep the heat in the can better. did this to bros mbrp for his viper and the rpms didnt drop on back to back wot pulls on lake like it used to.

Took The Can Off. Rpm Engagement Is Around 4400/4500. Going Wop Rpm Is At 8500. Going Down The Trail If I Let Off And Then Hit It Again Rpms Go To 8100 Then Climb To 8500. Sled Felt Alot Faster!. Pulled Over On The Trail To Check Clutch Heat. Primary Was A Little Warm On The Sheaves. The Secondary Was Hot To Touch On The Outside Of The Sheave. Should I Try Wrapping My Secondary To 70 Deg. Right Now It Is At 60. On Top Of That After Wot My Rpms Drop To 4000 And Hang There For About 10 Seconds. I Blip The Choke And It Falls Down To Idle. My Pilots Are Out To 2-1/8 Right Now. Plugs Are Tan In Color. Any Suggestions.

If your idle is hanging and your screws are out that far try next size pilots and 1-1.5 turns on the screw.

Tighten it 10 more degrees for better backshift but at 60 your perfect for drag racing.

Engagement at 4400/4500 is probably a little harsh for trail riding. Should he drop some heel weight, perhaps move it to the tip? TURK?

Or add to the heel to bring her down???

He needs a helix with lower start & finish to get where he wants. You can also drop 1 gram from tip & add to heel but that will cost some top end.

Well Got It Together Last Night And Went For A Rip This Morning. Here Is Where I Am At 47/41 W/green Spring At 70 Wrap. Red Spring Primary W/heel Clicker Tip 3.5 And Heel 4 Gram. Sled Hooked Up Great. Was Only 9 Deg This Morning. Freshly Groomed Packed Trail. Clutch Engagement Was At 4400rpm. Sled Rose To 8500-8600.seemed Wicked Fast. Rode It In Powder To Test As Well. Sled Rose Right Up Out Of The Snow. Watched My Rpm,s Climb Right To 8600. When I Bounced Through The Snow And Came Back Into The Snow My Rpms Dropped To 8100 Then Rose To 8600. Is It Suppose To Do This? Any Recondmendations Would Be Greatly Appreaciated. Also Am Running With The Mbrp Can On. Most Of All I Am Satisfied With How The Sled Is Running, Just Am Questioning The Rpm Falling In The Powder.
