Well, the day came, my Terminator motor took a vacation in the middle of the biggest snowfall we've had in years. Great.
Here's my deal. I've rebuilt sled engines before. I am tearing it open tonight to see the extent of the damage. I've never worked on a Yamaha before, so are there any tips/tricks and pitfalls to watch out for?
I'm assuming it was the mag side piston which sustained the damage. Plugs look good, I fear it was a detonation thing, just lost power. There is some marring on the plug where pieces of metal struck it.
I sure hope I don't have much damage to my cylinders. I have two more stock cylinders, so I may have to go back to stock...which sucks.
I have an extra set of pistons, .050 over OEM parts with the modified skirt as required for my heavily ported cylinders.
