Ok...i have the rear skid out of my srx and i`m trying to put new transfer rods on. How do you get the upper wheels of the shaft where the top of the transfer rods are? I`ve tried a puller but will destroy the wheels doing that. Does the shaft drive out?

Take the wheel off the bearing(clip) then pull just the bearing.NYsledneck said:Ok...i have the rear skid out of my srx and i`m trying to put new transfer rods on. remove the inner circlip, remove the wheel, use a gear puller to remove the bearing.
Remember you should only have to remove 1 side, then pull the shaft through.

i just hit it off with a rubber hammer by hittin teh shaft. usaly one side coems off easyer then the other. one is usaly pressed on and the opther has less tight tolerance and usaly coems off easyer
