Will a longer track affect my suspension setup?

I have an 03 Viper that I modified from a 121" to 144" track and my first ride impressions are that the suspension seemed softer than before and more ready to bottom. Is this possible or is it in my head?

It's normal, same thing happened when I stretched my Pro-X from 121" to 144".
