i have an 02 viper er. i bent my right trailing arm last week. before i bought a new one i looked at an srx and an sxr to see if the trailing arms are the same as the viper, but they arent. i also noticed that on the srx and sxr the sway bar, or stabilizer bar, or whatever it is called ( the bar that comes out of the bellypan and hooks to a small link, then to the trailing arm ), anyways this bar hooks to the bottom of the small link, and the top of the link hooks to the trailing arm, but on my viper the bar hooks to the top, and the bottom to the trailing arm. i just figured that was one of the differences of the two, but i was just looking at a OEM parts list for the viper, and it shows that it hooks to the bottom, like the srx and sxr. i just looked through the photos on the totallyamaha.com snowmobile site and finally found a pic that shows what im looking for, and it does hook on the bottom.

do you think my sway bar is bent, or does it have something to do with something else?? mine is the oppisite hook up as whats on this picture. i never really looked before but the opposite side of the trailing arm that i bent is the same so i dont think it happened when the trailing arm bent.

When i first bought my sled, I had a slight accident with a culvert lol..... Needless to say after about $1600 it was back together.... However i didnt notice that the one sway bar link was on the other way... the way your describing. I had one on right and the other was facing up like the sway bar hooked up above the trailing arm. Simple fix just flip it around and you should be good to go. Machine should handle a lot different to... mine did anyways.

Good luck
