Well after 3 hours of running great again,I have developed a choke problem. In the beginning the sled sat for many years in the basement without even a start. I have since removed the carb, removed all varnish and sludge, had new jets installed, float replaced (by the dealer), new fuel lines, plugs and wires, and changed all fluids and filters. As I said earlier, it ran great for about 3 hours, then started a bogging problem, and suddenly a no start. To get it started I have to pull up on the chocke cable where it enters the carb. It will idle fine, but trying to throttle up on it it smokes and bogs. It will go, but no power. Seems to me its choking itself. I've adjusted the choke line where it enters the carb up and down with very little improvement. Is there a factory setting it should be adjusted too? I'm not a good carb man, but do alot of the work myself and am on a limited budget with this sled. Anything I might be missing, aside from a leaky crank seal? It does this cold or warmed up.
if you have to start it by pulling on the choke cable it is not getting enough gas, diaghram in your fuel pump might be torn or you might have water in your fuel system and it is frozen up somewhere. i would get it in a warm place for a while and see if it thaws out or you could take a hairdryer to the pump and carb to warm it up .good luck!

It will start now without the choke cable being pulled, however the bogging during acceleration still persists. The fuel tank has been drained and refilled with fresh gas, Would a bad diaghram in the pump cause this bogging and lack of power? Also as I don't have a manual for this machine where is the fuel pump and diaghram located? I was under the impression the fuel system was vacum actuated.

should have a pulse line from the crankcase to fuel pump make sure that is not cracked.sure its not a driveline problem? raise sled up and block it, pull the belt off and turn the secondary clutch by hand and make sure everything is turning over freely just sounds strange it was running good then started to bog with no power if everything turns over good then i would probably pull carb and re-check it , float setting inlet needle and seat and make sure the main jet did not loosen up and fall out ive seen that before

I'm wondering if the diaphram in the fuel pump might be dried out or cracked, causing the bog, after sitting for so many years. If so, can the diaphram be replaced? I've looked at the parts list for this sled and it shows the pump but without and exploded view of it. I'm assuming I may have to purchase the whole fuel pump if the diaphram cann't be replaced.
yamaha did not offer parts rebuild for them .they wanted to sell the whole pump to you .just go on mikuni.com or parts unlimited just tell them what you have

300 enticer
Hi,if you're interested I have a owners manual for the 300 enticer. We bought one new in 1980, long gone now, but found the manual in the desk drawer. $8 shipped. Maybe it'll help.
