Hi everyone! I threw a stud today and put a hole the size of a dime in my heat exchanger. Do you think I should attempt to weld or should I go through the hasstle of replacing it? It is a 1997 sx700. If replacement is the option where can I get one cheap? Thanks in advance.

if you have access to a tig welder definatly weld it. dont try it with an alluminum spoolgun. they are not fun to replace.

Yea if you can get it tig welded definetly go that route. To replace, you have to pull the motor... and then you're half way to even getting at it lol. drain as much coolant as you can and get it tig welded.

i have junked a few that had jb weld in them and didnt leak. not sure how long they were repaired like that but it did work. i preasurized them both up to over 100lbs and they didnt leak.
