Hey guys...
I'm in the midst of installing a torque limiter...gunna take some photos
to see if I'm doin it correctly..and for others to follow...But first before
I get started...hoping to get 2 questions answered before I dive in...
1. which bolts to loosen to realign the engine...
A: the single motor mount bolts on each side of the engine totalling 4?...
B: or the 2 Mount bolts that connect to the bulkhead...totalling 8?
2...Gunna take some pictures...but when using the SledPro tool...Do the 3 tip thingys align flush with the back side of the primary when checking sheave offset?...(check picture...)
I've got a few more questions to follow...just wanted to check these first...

i got the 2 outside ones flush right away, middle one was a little tougher for some reason.Loosened all bolts on bulkhead and really heaved on the motor to get it right.

yes the back of the sheave is supposed to be flush with the pins. from my experience you'll never get all three perfectly flush just get them as close as you can. some motors line up perfect others seem a bit off. and as for bolts i found it easiest to loosen them all. that way you can move the motor wherever you have to. then when you get the motor pretty close snug up one bolt and kinda use it as a pivot to get it perfectly lined up. i own one of theose tools and find it works really well. once you use it a few times you'll find little tricks that make it easier to line up. good luck.

yeah exactly what snowrules stated.I know my center to center was off about
3/16 " and lined up the 3 pins within a paper thickness, that should be close enough.

Sweet...thanks fellas...ok...now next question...
I'm running an ER machine..according to the "torque Limitor" instructions...my sheave offset needs to be 5mm offset more...I'm guessing to compensate for the starter gear...So is the attached picture correct?..

I need to find a good deal on one of those tools, they are the cat's a$$. I have the maxx perf anodized alignment and center to center tools and they are alright but that thing is awesome.

Hey guys...thanks for the input...the sled pro worked flawlessly...however...I will admit the torque limiter once installed does keep everything pretty aligned...but some finessing was needed...
I'll most likely post a new thread regarding the limiter installation with step by step pictures explaining both STD and ER models...Pretty strait forward...
Concept Carbon...if your interested in borrowing the sledpro...I have no problem...as long as I can get a garantee it'll be back when the season is over...after all..you could be an Ottawa Sens fan with a T.O grudge... hahahaha... unsure how you wanna get it...PM me...
cheers
