02 Viper Gauge cluster not working

Help! I have a 2002 Viper ER, (with only 640 miles) and the gauge cluster flashes on/off and then off blanks out completley, When it works, the tach bounces all over the place. Every minute or so the cluster will work for a few seconds, but when I blip the throttle, the tach will bouce toward zero, and the gauge cluster will go blank again.

I checked the connection on the cluster, where the cluster/headlight harness attached into the body harness, and I also ran the wire bundle to where it disapears under the engine. No visible chafing, and everything looks good.
One note: The battery is discharged, and will not hold a charge. I just pull start it.

Any ideas out there?

ya, put a new battery in it and it will all work again, you have to have a good battery in a er for the guage to function!

Thanks. Simple fix after all. I'll let you know what happens after I replace the battery !!!
