Well, after about 8K hard ridden miles on my '99 SX 600 the w-arm finally passed away.
I long traveled this sled Viper shocks and really like the way it rides and handles so I am going to fix the w-arm along with some other little things.

I did a search for w-arm related posts and got many posts for rebuilding it, buying an aftermarket arm or buying a used one and to replace the broken one with. I would like to hear for you on what you did to fix yours and what the results were.

Thanks,
Mills

buy a new or used one and weld it up where ever yamaha didn't. especially where the straps ride over, just fill in where they welded a inch then didn't then did, make it one continous weld. it fixed my viper,rx-1 and srx.

Personally I like to add gussets to the corners and between the V's of the W towards the bottom of the arm. If you've seen enough of them fail you know exactly where the weak links are. If yours isn't bent, just broken, then weld up and reinforce the broken area, throw in some gussets, and run her.
