My exhaust manifold on my 03 SXViper has developed a hairline crack but it is starting to effect my perrformance so I was wondering if it would be possible to just run a bead of weld over it and call her good until I can fix it right. HELP asap going on a ride this weekend.

It should work just fine as long as you turn the welder down low enough so it doesn't burn or melt through the manifold.

You will need to tig weld it, cause she aluminium...you will have to drill a small hole at each end of the crack (to stop the crack from growing), if not as you weld it will continue to crack ahead of the weld heat...then creamicrome it then hi-heat powder coat it flatblack...it will out last a new oem one...

The cost for me was $125 cnd, $50 weld job & $75 creamicrome/paint job

Hey there; I just did the same to my 02'. She was burning oil and this was one problem my mechanic found. He welded it and I'm going out tomorrow. I'll let you know if made a difference.

Ihad The Bottom Of Mine Welded In Two Spots, Now The Top Is Showing Cracks. Guess I Willhave Thse Welded This Summer.
