99+ hood on a 98 srx??

hey all

i was wondering if the 99+ hood will fit on the 98 srx. my dad found out that trees dont move even for a big sled. so i needed a pipe which i am hopefully getting tomorow and a hood soon. but i need to know if the say 2000 or the 01 or even the 02 hood fit? i love the 02 decals.

99 will fit. 00-02 went to dual headlight so you have to get the dual headlight hood, gauge pod, windshield, headlight assembly, wiring harness and probably magneto. Someone please correct me add to this reply if i'm forgetting something or wrong somewhere. Thanx fellas
 
the hoods are the same for 98-02 srx as far as i know but if you get the 00-02 you will have to change the headlight pod and gauge pod with your 98's. the 00-02's had the double headlight and a diff. windshield .
 
i know the 00 srx's had the dual head light, i need to get a guage pod anyways becuase mine cracked in half. so what can i do to hook the dual headlights up, can i just wire the dual plugs into each other??

so there is no way that i can mount the single headlight to the dual hood. i will use the guage pod for the single light. is this all possible.
 
If you want to keep it simple you could use the 2000+ hood and just run one head light bulb or if you have the single headlight pod it will fit the newer hoods.
 
some run the dual headlamp here but find some lower watt light to put in there

Yes you can do this. Just run any year srx hood and if it happens to be a 2000 to 2002 hood just use a 98-99 single bulb headlight/gaugepod. The hoods are exactly the same. If you want the dual headlight setup you need a new cdi, main wiring harness, stator, flywheel, ignition pickup and you need to machine the cases for the different locaton of the pickup on the 300w ignitions.
