My riding partner has an 03 EFI sno-pro I've riden several times.
Pros: They look kind of cool, good wind protection, as fast as anything
Cons: Blows lots of drive belts, uses a lot of gas and oil, ride is choppy and un-stable, proned to tipping over easy unless extra wheels are added in the back.
They are a nice sled but, I don't care for them from experience.
Good luck

Not sure what year your SRX 700 is. If it's a 2000 to 2002 you can make him bow to you on top end if setup correctly. If it's a 1998-1999 hmmm...you might be out of luck without alot of cash. I have run stock 2003's and beat them with my stock good running Viper. I know the F7's wake up alot with airbox mods and the 2 deg. timing key mod plus clutching. They get real quick to 100mph with these mods, but if your setup is right, you can really make the later model SRX's haul the mail on the lakes. One year when I was up on Lake Gogebic and there was a guy that actually was the factory clutching expert for A/C that had a 2003 F7 that was kicking everyones tail. He let me drive it in front of the Fisherman Lodge and man that thing was big time quick to 100mph. He said he had not been beat all week on the lake and I believed him. That night at Gogebic Lodge their were $100 bills flying on the bar.... who had the fastest sleds. Sure enough, the F7 guy was there. There were two guys with 2001 SRX's that were from the Chicago area there. One of them bet this guy $100 and the race was on. I went down on the lake to witness it and yes, the F7 pulled him off the line, but low and behold the SRX caught him in midrange and went by him. Later the next day I got to run the SRX with my Viper when I saw him out on the lake. I had him to about 90-95 mph, but man when he went by me.......it's was like WOW!!! Big time top end. Literally it was a streak of blue!!! They told me they were geared up two teeth for the lake 'cause the lake is SO big there seems to be no boundries. Just go until you know the race is over.
So in a nutshell....the F7's can be trouble in a shorter run, but give the SRX a good run and lookout.

awsome sled... fastest F7 produced.... gave me all i coudl handle and then some in 660 runs.... i took 04s and 05s with ease but the 03 is a strong sled in 660... i actually got elminated by one in the last races i was in by 0.004 of a second.... had bad startin line tho was good 2ft of snow so my short lug track burried while he hooked up if i had better start i think i coudl take him....
CHECK list....
-recalls make sure they are all done
-get used to the 13.5 its a bit different
-tune the handling it and it will be good
overall enjoy i love the firecats very fun sled to ride

leaky gas tank by the brake side footwell, look for that. check steering column, suspension for cracks (them cat guys can ride HARD!!!) see if it has had all the recalls. they had like 20... my take is it is a cool sled with some neat ideas that they made too light so they tend to have issues.. fast as hell though if you can keep it running.

Make sure it has the factory tow rope in the trunk, it needs it (I've pulled 2 03' F7's back to civilization) 03' was a bad year for them.
