Well, last night may have been the lat run for me. Freezing rain and mild tempratures are starting today. I only did about 50 miles, which was disappointing cause it should have been more. Anyway, I still chewed through alot of oil for the amount of driving I did. I double checked the oil linkage and it looks fine. It seemed to run really well......(I ate an RX-1 on the lake!)
Does anyone have any other suggestions or is this just going to be the nature of my beast!

Welcome!!!!!!

Somtimes the oil cable can pull out of it's slot(here, here)check that then also,

1-adjust idle
2-set throttle end play(here) to 2mm
3-then set oil pump gap(here,here) to 22mm

do thos in that order ..

We were out last night and took a spin to the Red Dot restaurant. Ate and headed back to Orleans. Passed about 15 sleds last night seems every body knew it might be the last run.Rrrrr

took a run this morning.Warm temps have made all the snow hard now.No more powder snow, lucky I am running ice scratchers on the sled, otherwise would have no snow on sliders and exchangers.Sled is running super fast today.Spot on now with the clutching.8200 at launch and 8500 at WOT.Really pullls nice now,I am loving it.

SRX7; Red Dot, we must have been there at the same time. We got there just before 10pm. the trails would have been perfect if there was 2" of snow.
I don't know what you think, but this was not a good year for riding!

Daman;

I need some help. I bought this 2nd hand, and have no manuel or knowledge on this machine. I'm semi mechanically inclined and need a little extra help.
1) set idle- what should the idle rpm at? engine temp-cold or running temp?
2) set end play-how do you do that. is there supose to be resistance or is it loose?
3) set oil pump gap- do you pull the cable apart to expose the line and measure?
I may be asking stupid questions, but these toys are expensive and don't what to screw it up.
Thanks for yer help!

Ok here we go,

1-idle should be set warmed up and after ran, around 16-1800 rpm's
2-you adjust it down at the carb rack(follow the cable down),there is a
lock nut you need to unloosen then you can adjust the collar, then use
the pic i posted for ya to check free play there...
3-yes pull it apart and you measure that gap(see that pic i posted)..

i use a caliper to do these checks..

I just came back from a ride, put 30 miles on and it is 42 degrees F. SRX is running strong,no overheating issues either.Have ice scratchers shooting snow up towards and in the suspension area.Works sweet!!!!
Well as for clutching,I am done with it,just gonna ride and enjoy what's left of the snow.We have cold temps coming towards the end of next week, that'll be good for the weekend.Well I thought we did, revised weather report calls for 7 degrees C next Saturday. What a bumber. Will have to take short runs in the evening when it starts to cool off.
I got up to 105 mph today, taking a chance and holding throttle till the last second, then large corner comes up on me.
