i know this has been discussed in the past but i could not find what i was looking for in past threads....
i have purchased new 8dn20's for my single piped viper, the main problem i am having is overev at top end.......
i am thinking of starting with 4.5 inner and 3.6 outer.....this combo will give me virtually the same total weight as mycurrent stock 8ek's with 4.5 in both.......the 8dns' profile at top end should put me right where i want to be..
Question: How much will 1 g of weight bring down the rpm approximately?
Anyone else with similar set ups have any suggestions for this weight.. specifically rivet weights and placement?

approx 100 rpm,s I am told.I added approx. 1 g washers with my 4.5g rivets to get mine down.Got my launch from 8450-8500 down to 8200.WOT I put in 2 washers with each 4.5g rivet. Can't totally give you a final rpm here, but was running at 8800-8900 wot and now at least at 100mph I am at 8300 rpm, don't have a place I can try it full out.Should climb to 8500 if I allow it to,but pulls like a S.O.B.

Just go to any hardware and get some various sizes of washers that have the same inner diameter (I.D.) as the O.D. of the rivets. Get a gram scale so you can weigh what you are putting together.

i have found a few washers with the right inside diameter however the outside diameter is too large and exceeds profile of the weight....any suggestions or do i need to keep looking
