95 VMax 600, What should we look for?

Hi all,
A friend of mine is thinking of picking up a 1995 VMax 600 LE.

Neither of us has ever owned a Yamaha before. What should we look for with this sled?
Are there any serious issues?
What kind of mileage should he expect?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Just give it a good looking over make shure nothing is bent or broken
do a compression test on it should be around 150ish psi but more
important that there within 10 psi from each other.

if tuned right and running good you should get 10-11MPG out of it
some say there a little hard on oil but i don't think so i would rather
use a little more that not enough.i have a stock '95 in the stable and
love it,not a problem with it,suspention don't ride as good as newer ones
but if serviced properly they ain't to bad..

Thanks for the reply. He looked at it today and got it. It should make a good sled for him.
