Studded my Viper last weekend , I have noticed the studs are hitting the rear exchanger and dont like that so much .I stiffened up my rear skid as much as i dare . And it rides a TON better in the whoops i may add !
Any body know where I can get some of those protectors I hear so much about ?

I have brand new set still in the packaging, that I bought thinking I was gunna stud my Viper. Well I decided not so does $45 shipped sound far, they normally go for around $55 new without shipping????

You tightened up your skid? How about tightening up your track a little bit? How long are your studs?

If this is your Viper S , Did you put the front exchanger and tunnel protectors in? Also , how long of a stud and did you change to 8 tooth drivers?

I put in 1.250 studs in , like 1.489 overall lenngth in it . I had to shave about 1/8th of an inch off the track to get a 1/4 inch to protrude . I did not Install exchanger or tunnel protectors but am going to . Did not go with different drivers and I did tighten up the track . I stiffened up the spring settings on both rear shocks , loosened the limiter strap about a 1/4 inch and set the center shock adjustment to hard .The studs were scraping the tunnel before I messed with the suspension but seems to be clearing now . I have noticed a few gouges on my rear exchanger and dont like that so much . Overall it wasnt too bad to stud and what a huge difference in traction .

Definately get protectors in that thing or you will be looking at some issues when the studs start tearing through all that expensive aluminum.
