What if any is the difference between a 1999 SX-700 cylinder and a 2001 SXR-700 cylinder. The fiche shows them as different part numbers. The pistons,pins,rings... all are the same. I am assuming it's most likely porting or intake. I want to put one on my 01' SXR-700 but if it's not the same, that won't work.
1999 700 piston part number PISTON STD VX700 8CH-11631-00-A0
1999 700 cylinder part number CYLINDER 1 VX700 8CH-11311-01-00
2001 700 piston part number PISTON STD (8CH5) 8CH-11631-00-A0
2001 700 cylinder part number CYLINDER 1 (8CH5) 8CH-11111-10-00
Thanks, Doug

I see the 2000 has the same part number as the 99 also. I am thinking with the new HO ignition on the 01's they changes the porting. Doug

if you go to your dealer and he lets you look in the 2001 tech update manual, it will have this information and show you the differance wether it be porting or whatever. I have a 2000, 2002,2003, sorry.
