I had to replace my cdi on my 98 venture 600 twin it runs now but has a bad bogging problem, I will only go 60 to 80 km now and the diagnostic light no longer blinks when starting. Also my fuel gauge is also not working and I have a backup beeper that beeps when in reverse that no longer works. Has anyone out there have any idea what has gone wrong and what I should do?
Thanks.
Thanks.

If there is not a battery hooked up it may cause the problem.
Does the electric starter work?

The battery is hooked up but the electric start doesn't work, I have a problem with the ring gear and have removed it.

If nothing else was done beside changing the CDI, there may be a problem with it or the connections.
Was it a new box from Yamaha?
Did you do some other things while diagnosing the problem?

Thanks PZ 1 for your replies I narrowed it down to be the stator, I have replaced it and its back to normal. Weird that the stator and the cdi would go at the same time.
