Thats like comparing a tennis ball to a basket ball. They are both round and bounce, thats about it.
Sorry to be harsh, but its the truth
tunnel mount motor v.s. bulk head mount
steel chassis v.s aluminum
18" wide rubber track v.s 15 inch wide cleated
Points vs. CDI
then list can go on and on and on and on and on and on

i believe he was just talking about the engines. can you make a ew 643 engine perform like an sr 643 engine probably not. but you could surely try. the fact that the sr 643 is free air and has a very light cdi rotor ignition helps a ton. the gp and ew 643 engines have huge heavy flywheel and fan points ignitions and a large ring gear for the pull start engagement all that stuff is very heavy and is a huge inertial mass to overcome to accelerate the engine. thats your bigest problem. second problem is the porting the intake on the fan motors i know is much restricted and needs a ton more area to increase power. with some pipes porting and head work it could make some good power but its primarily a torque monster. you cant make it scream or it will likely self destruct. if you like you can check out my GP 643 powered snojet. i built some angle carb intake adapters to straighten the intake flow and bolt on my 42x45 mm mikunis. this engine likely has some other mod work done to it but im not sure as i just bought it im probably going to build some pipes for it this summer. my 643 sno jet

thanks Ahood

.....Do you want to race it or "run" it .....I have "donated" EW643
block and cyls to someone for a Thunderjet ....You can cut the air
duct and recoil stuff off and remount a diff recoil system to the crankshaft
and you will have trouble finding proper free air heads ..The ignition
will just be points and it will be a "fudged" machine ...The output end
of the crank is probably wrong as well .....Long and short....
You could build a runner but not a racer from the EW....
Better to find a GP643 since it has a CVT pulley already and do the
other changes ....
If you already have a chassis ,,,can it be made a "SR433" instead ???
Stuff a GPX motor in it ???
