Guys fill me in on putting viper shock in a 97 vmax. From what I understand you can get more travel with them. Is it worth the time ,effort, and $ ? Will any viper shocks work? Or is there better ways to upgrade the suspension. I have done motor and clutching upgrades last off season so now its time for the suspension this year. Now that it performs beter Id like to make it ride better.

First take note of your toe-in or out on the skis. To put in the the rear viper shocks you need Viper limiter straps and Viper transfer rod spacers. They bolt right in.
In the front take off the factory upper mount and bolt the Viper shock in.Check the toe again and adjust if neccessary. While you're at it shim the back of the skis and if you want put ski savers on.This will eliminate any darting issues you may have had.I did this on my 97 sx.
If you want you can put in Viper control rods and sway bar to take full advantage of the longer travel up front.
