I would like to know if anone would know what skid to put in for 2 people?
I was thinking of using a 136 track with a expert x, m10 , or mono skid.
Weight will vary up to 300 pds.

This would be for a 98 700

Anyone do this before. opinions?

The Ventures before 2000 are 121 - save yourself some money and find a seat from one of those. Just did my wifes 1998 XTC 700 with one and her and my daughter love it. If you have too much weight for the spring - go to Pioneer Performance and just get a heavier spring. I think a 136 or 144 would be too much of a boat - but I think they would be worth it if you are planning to ride more than 100 miles in a day two up and you are over 5'-8" - 5'-10". Good luck whatever you choose.

I got a 2 up seat on it now...

with handwarmers. I put that on last year. Right now the suspention are in the help department. How did you like the new ride?

From 1997 on the Ventures are 136. When they introduced the 4-stroke they went to 144. I wouldn't think of riding 2 up on a 121 for very long. And as far as the 136 being a boat... well I'll just agree to disagree. I currently own 3 136 sleds. My Venture is my riding partners old sled. I NEVER left him in tight woods while my Viper was a 121. Propely setup, a 136 is MARGINALLY harder to ride than a 121. But you won't believe the difference in the ride. Try and find a 136 skid and tunnel extension. You and your passenger will appreciate it. I am not sure what year they changed the seats, but my 200 Venture has a longer seat than the 97 my buddy had before. He missed the rack that was on the 97, but for 2-up riding the 2000 is more comfortable. Good luck whatever you decide.

sorry - I should clarify - I think a 144 would be a boat. Riding in the tight trails of northern wi I also think a 136 is too long - but to each their own. I don't know many people that are going to go off trail with a 136 with the two up seat on it so to me a 121 worked fine. My wife and daughter were both very happy riding on the 121 two up - and the trails were not that nice when we rode either.

also - I've ridden a 136 viper on the same trails I've ridden a 121 viper, and I would take the 121 on the trail probably 85% of the time. (on trail)

As Viper Dave posted, the early liquid Ventures had a 136 track but the seat was the same length as on a 121" sled. Later - I don't remember the year, they went to a full length seat on the Venture.

The short seat is a tight fit for two people of average size or larger.
The ride will be noticeably better on a 136" track.

If you were to switch to a 136 track, change the suspension, and
lengthen the tunnel, I think you may be better off just switching to a used 700 Venture. It would save a lot of time and work, and possibly money. Also that would give you heavier front springs and shocks and sway bar. Plus better gearing and clutching for two people.
