Is there a site from Yamaha to check VIN# to see if my sled was affected by that issue? I thought it was only '98, but someone said may be some '99's also. I wasn't aware of it at time of purchase & original owner didn't mention it at all. Not sure if he knew or not.

not that I know of maybe your local dealer can punch it in and check yes I believe it was 98 and 99 crank's

DEALER CAN CHECK IF CRANK UPDATE WAS DONE THROUGH YAMAHA WARRANTIE PROGRAM ONLY. AND YES I BELIEVE 99 WERE ALSO RECALLED. 3:16 (yammie tony)
