I have just Recently Dropped my buddies 02 Viper motor in my sled. This is a Very strong working engine(piped) with alot of others mods. He didn't have the Detonation sensor on his 02 head so i swapped his with mine for the D.C.S. But i have a problam, On wot runs, it's ok, no problams but when im crusing at about 5,500-7,000 Rpms i get a Detonation Warning, like i said on top im fine, im going to raise the rpms just a couple hundred so im around 9,000. i think she's under-reving. the engine was geard and clutched for a 121 and i think thats why she's under-reving a little bit. but thats not a big problam... Im running 60 Pilots across the board with the pto 165 mid 165 and mag 170. I jetted really rich and now im going to slowly Jet down, but i need to find where and why im having detonation. Jetting Clips are stock, they were always stock in his carbs, so its not jetting postion problams.
did he not see that his sled had detonation because he didn't have the sensor or... he just didn't have it?
this sled has bender pipes, Holtzman Vari-flow, Bender Direct Oil inj, Tpi valves, Avenger Series III, Primary and secondary Clutch kits... All these were on his 02 viper with no problams...
When i had my vari-flow on mine it caused detonation, maybe i have the same problem here???
I will be listing a rolling chassis for parts soon with alot of aftermarket parts, so keep an eye on the classifieds

There was another guy on here not to long ago that had a vari-flow on an SRX and he was saying that he had to jet extremely rich and have the vari flow set for like -40 to keep the dcs light from coming on. It wasn't all that long ago so maybe try and search for that and see what he had to say about it.

sounds like its in the mid-range circuit. Having an '02 i am not too familiar with the DCS.
ditto on the guy that posted about having problems a week or two ago.
