After having no problems with my SRX 600, & now purchasing a "00" 700, with a blown rod bearing with only 2300 miles on it, did Yamaha ever come out & say exactly what was wrong , & why so many crank failures? I've heard so many different things, from bent oil lines, to lean jetting...Or was it a combination of a lot of different things. I'm in the middle of a tear down & am going to try to put to good use all the advice I have read here... Any more advice is welcome...

Well the 98-99's had thge crank problems.Yamaha didn't weld them and they where coming apart that's why they had a recall and welded them. The 2000 and newer came welded from the start.
