THIS IS A NEW CAMOPLAST PREDATOR SNOWMOBILE TRACK. SOME SPECIAL FEATURES THIS TRACK HAS TO OFFER ARE: IT HAS THE SIX-PITCH LUG DESIGN, IT IS CLIPPED EVERY 3RD WINDOW AND EVERY 3RD WINDOW IS CLOSED SO THAT IT WILL TRAP SNOW BETWEEN YOUR TRACK AND YOUR SLIDES FOR MINIMAL SLIDE WEAR. THIS TRACK WEIGHS IN AT 34 LBS, THE DIMENSIONS ARE 121"X15"X1". THE DRIVE PITCH IS 2.52". THIS TRACK IS GREAT FOR TRAIL, SNO-CROSS AND CROSS COUNTRY RIDING. IT IS PARTICULARLY A GOOD HIGH SPEED AND ACCELERATION TRACK ESPECIALLY IN LOOSE SNOW CONDITIONS. THIS TRACK RETAILS FOR $462. I WILL SELL FOR MUCH LESS. PART# 1602-226

I love the six pitch tracks. The six pitch is better in loose snow and the hack saw is better in hard pack snow.If you do a lot off offtrail riding go with the six pitch.

I pretty much agree with Turk and pro116. You already know that though! IMO the only time the ripsaw would outperform the predator is when the trail has been freshy groomed at a -20 C night when the snow is good and hard... once the traffic starts on the trail you won't miss the ripsaw.

I personally feel the six pitch design is the best track for almost every typical trail condition other than freshly groomed and even then it's still very close.

So changeup, the camo 1" Predator...is it a 6-pitch track for sure (9830) even if it doesn't say it in the Royal catologue. The 1.25 Predator in the book says 6-pitch.Since I am not going to stud the track,do you still think the 1" is good or the 1.25 track.Shouldn't lose much in speed with the 1.25 I am assuming.Just need to clearify the difference between both sizes.

The six pitch is the most dueable track on the market too.The lugs ton't tear easy like the ripsaws.

You wont play wrap around the clock with a 11\4 on your srx.I would get a 1" preditor and you could allways pick it later if you had a bad snowfall year. But i ride alot of lakes and trails and you go off trail no?

Bluewho..what do you mean...wrap around the clock..LOL.I don't have lakes close to me.I am in the flat lands.Usually ride on areas that are well used and the rivers out here.Only places I can open it up here is on the river system where it is mostly packed from other users.I can go off these places into softer snow, but the SRX is not going thru the bush where the snow gathers 2-3 feet deep.I can go cross country riding across many fields out here if it is smooth to.My SXR600 has the 1.25 Ripsaw and I can pin her in the soft snow more and keep going. The SRX will be used more on a used trail, along our floodway system, the river system with open spots to pin it and along the main hi-way ditches that are well travelled.I would not use the SRX after a major snowfall or storm untill snow has been well tramped down.Even in one of our big storms last season,my SXR has a hell of a time going thru soft powder snow 2 feet deep.So maybe I should stick to the 1"Predator track.

Yea if you look in the royal catalogue, you'll see the track #'s in the description...

the 1" six pitch ends with 9830 - the fully clipped version ends with 9837

the 1.25" six pitch is 9818 and the fully clipped version is 9833 if I remember right... I don't see the 9833 in the catalogue this year, but I imagine they still carry it... it may be in the online catalogue.

Well I went and ordered the 1" Predator 9830 6-pitch for the SRX.Also ordered the HClicker's and Simmon's ski's c/w cooling fins. Now just need to find a good skid to replace my old one and need to find another Helix. Not sure if I need 50/40,50/38 or 51/38 yet. Will ask the guys on here to make sure.I think Turk recommends the 50/38 helix with the HC's.The journey almost ends here.A little more searching to do yet.LOL.

with heel clickers, anything that ends in 30 something works great, if your using a roller, the lower the better. 46-34 with a roller or 48-36 or 50-38, all will work good.
use a silver blue polaris spring and 15.5 rollers in the primary

good track choice, remember, it will need to be clipped if you run tunnel protection. if you have u shaped tunnel protectors, remove them and make them an L on a table saw. reinstall them so they line up perfectly with the front guards. this will allow you to clip the track as narrowly as possible.
yamaha guards and tunnels are built around a 3/4in track. this means you will need to cut a minimum of 1/4 for guard clearence from the track.

if you have no guards, i recomend using polaris style aluminum guards. they are much better. you install them to the front of the tunnel to the back, they add strength and keep the gas tank from bowing down the tunnel causing unnessasary rubbing of the track on bumps with a full tank. they wont wear down either, if your putting alot of miles on and run the track a little loose

BETHEVIPER,I intend to get a 50/38 Helix to start off with.I am amazed that I would have to trim a 1" track a bit to clear protectors.I have 1.25 ripsaw on my SXR and there I clipped the track to clear front exchanger protector.Maybe on the SRX it is tighter,I'll have to check.I know I have the L-shaped tunnel protectors for sure. Thanks for the heads up on that,I would off caught it eventually.I still want to change my suspension, not sure to what.Mine has been abused by the previous owner. The rails are a little worn down towards the front.Replaced w-arm and mounting brackets for them.I don't see anything else broken on it,but could be bent or twisted somewhere.Anyways wouldn't mind to long travel the sled.Maybe with a Viper skid.Would love to put in a mono, but thinks it will be hard to find one from a 06 sled and the price would be high.I'll take my skid out soon and lay it on a flat surface to see if it is twisted or out of shape. But rails need replacing,so better off I just get a new skid in there,I will feel better. Will be searching probably all summer for one somewhere.
