I was just looking at my sled today and looked at the primary and could see and feel a reel slight groove where the belt sits before it engages. Should I do anything about this? If so what should I do? I've got the two original belts with both around 2100 miles. They show absolutely no wear on them. They both sit at the right height in the secondary. My primary is pretty smooth, my buddy told me to rough it up with some sand paper to get a better grip. Any advice?

Hey I have a clutch that has grooves all the way up. Almost like rings you would see on a tree stump. was this caused by the 89L? Came off a 99 Vmax 500 with 11,500 miles. The flyweights had chatter marks or grooves in them also. Is it just a worn out clutch? Did you ever get that primary I sent you Turk?

Yes but the twins run the 89L. I noticed my 06' Attack has a groove in the primary also...
