I have a 2000 srx and i got a set of ohlins from a buddy mine off of a 99 srx with the brackets to raise front end to equal the front w/ rear because rear is long traveled. The problem i am having is getting the ohlins on first time replacing shocks. If i put the shock on the top bracket first it is if the shock is to long and i can't get the bottom hole lined up with bracket on trailing arm. When i go to put bottom in the bottom coil on spring catches bracket on trailing arm therefore the bottom hole on shock is past the mounting bracket on trailing arm. Any help would be appreciated. 99 ohlins should fit a 2000 right.

I'm not understanding your description very well. But,I put a set of Ohlins from a '99 on a 2001. I did the flip the original shock mounts and even added shock extensions. Put 1,600 smooth flawless miles on it over this winter. If you have flipped the top brackets, you will have to grind around the mounting holes to allow room for the top of the shock.

Maybe try undoing the rear of the trailing arm at the chassis. Line your shock up mount everything then refasten the trailing arm to the chassis. Just a suggestion hope it helps.
