Looking for a pair of Billet or solid rear skid wheel for viper skid. I have the stock and would like to change them. What size, billet with or without rubber on the wheel or another option?

I will revalve the shocks this summer, hifax and may repowdercoat the springs white?

Has anyone repowder coat the skid another color and how did it hold up?
Thanks for the information.

powder coating works 3 seasons old here.

Your skid looks great. Like the uofm colors. What did it cost, prep done, where did you go and lastly the rear wheel size and cost and where did you get them? thanks

ron, wouldnt go billets without rubber, for riding the snirt trails. we are finding out with tracks of 1.75 or taller with no rubber on the wheels the tracks are blistering where the billets contact the track in non lugged areas. (every other outside lug) there is a definate pattern to it.

my 1.75 my wifes 2" and grape ape's 2.25 all did the same thing and these three tracks only saw ontario. no snirt, mostly offtrail riding. we believe longer periods of high track speed are causing the track to either heat and blister (to the kevlar chords) or they are flexing and blistering due to fatigue like bending a piece of metal, wire back and forth till it breaks.

like i said i am seeing it mostly on taller lugged (over 1.25") with billets/no rubber. i havent noticed it on my 02 440 with a 1.25" track and a full skid of billets. and i dont want to blanket the billets as bad but, i will say one thing... i ordered a new nytro mtx with a 2.25" track, and i will not be running billets again.

you also have to understand no matter how anal you are those wheels will get rough, chips, and get sand blasted both on the sides and the contact patch. and at 100.00 a pop they arnt cheap. not to mention what those rough edges will do to the tracks over an extended period of time. ski

I dunno about the wheels with no rubber but thats some good info there , i hope we can get some more replies as they are expensive and if they are hurting the track your wallet will be next!!These are 8" yami snowcross wheels and rails so there is no drop axle. They are very thick and heavy so they dont shed any wieght. They rest are polaris wheels spread out to keep the track off of the rails and work very well doing so.I swung a deal with a bud for the powder coating so i have no price. If you sandblasted the pieces youself it would save some money.

you are hearing wrong there blue.I just ordered more things off Royal, another nearly $1100.oo of stuff, put on my Visa which in turn will be paid off by my creditline which in turn will eventually be paid off after by my future pay checks.Hell I haven't even paid off the SRX yet.Everything on my credit line is basically sled and parts purchases.LOL.I am broke man,but love sledding.

Here are some part #'s for the wheels from RoyalDistributing.com.
Polaris 5.350 idlers part#04-053-23 (23 is the color code which is blue here)
can be found on page 172 in catalogue.Bearings for them 6205 part number
04-156OR on page 181.
Yamaha 7.5 rear wheels part number 04-116-91 on page 175.Bearings for them 6204 part number 04-152-04OR on page 181.

Now if I go and put a 8 inch wheel kit in my Srx,billet and all(axle kit),I think it will end up costing around the $500.00 mark.Crazy eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!Still have to find a new skid yet, that could be from $400 to $1000 bucks. My poor credit line.Good thing I like to wrench eh! Buying a new sled would be to easy and boring.Wrenching is half the fun.LOL....WHAT THE HELL AM I SAYING!!!!
;):D LaLaLa
