Hey all
I have a 2000 venture XL500 fan, and I was trying to run it the other day, because I havent ran it since last summer, due to my new other sled keeping me from riding the venture, so anyways, it wont fire. The battery is totally dead, get a clicking type noise from right side of sled when trying to turn it over with the key.
Then by pulling it over by hand, it is not getting any spark at all. Tried brand new plugs, same thing. So I am assuming that this sled was designed to run with the battery in place and charged, or else it wont fire. But im sure there is a way to make it run without the battery, why else would there be a pull cord?
I dont have a chance lately to do so, but im thining along the lines of disconnecting the battery completely and trying to run it then. Any ideas guys, I need to run this machine!
Thanks in advance!

Check the obvious: Kill switch off and ignition on? It should have spark with a dead battery I would guess. Charge the battery and try it again. Use jumper cables off your truck battery.
wont run without a good battery. Some of them wont but some of the older vmax's will run with the battery out of it.

Ya, I checked all the obvious things, theyre all good.
All I need is to get the sled to run so I can store it again.
I kind of figured it was one of those sleds that absolutely need a battery to run, seems kind of pointless in a way to have a pullcord when it wont run if the battery is dead anyways. Going to charge up the battery and start it up, just was trying to see if there was a way to get it to run without the battery.
Thanks so far for the help!
