SRX vs Apex???

Hey guys I pick up a 2001 srx and I am curious hoo would win? Im constantly running against a Apex with my MXZ and he gets me buy about 3 to 4 mph. I was wondering how the SRX would do against it?
 

if its tuned right it will beat him. Mine wasn't running to what it should and i was only beat by maybe half a ski length in the quarter mile by an apex, if the race hadda been a bit shorter i would have won no problem. tune it and you shouldnt have a problem
 
it's all in the set up.out of the crate the apex will win it has very good clutching from the factory but the factory srx clutching sucks

So what would you guys recomend for clutching and gearing? Also what else could I tune that would help me?
 
Read the tech pages and do some searches on here. There is a lot of good info already posted.

ive got an 03 viper which i bought from a guy who bought an apex, we finally got the chance to run them. it was a rolling start and he got me,[i was sleeping like an idiot]he never got more than 2 sleds ahead an then i started realing him in. we ran several other times with different starts and needless to say he wants his viper back! NOT!! HE DOES GET ME IN THE RUFF STUFF THOUGH.but on speed he was going back to do some real tunning.
 
for sure a stock viper is no match for the apex! i have apex and 2 srxes witch are my friends, but i have been fixin and tuning on them so i run them alot! + i have owned to srxes myself .. and its all in clutching, gearing and tracktion, but youll have to do very good work on a srx to have a chance to beat the apex, i tested against these two srxes and they are both clutched and geared down, the 99 mod i can beat by 6-7 sled lenghts and the 02 i beat about 3-4 lenghts.. for sure with a little more tuning on the 02 srx it could be close! but for most srxes and vipers a apex is hard to beat!
love the sound of srx though!
 
well i just raced my buddys attack, and its nose to nose, he has more experience lauching than me, so if he took my srx and me his attack it was dead even un to 180km/h (lake wasent long enough to continue) If i took my machine, and he took his attack he'd get my by a sled on launch and pull a little after. My srx is bone stock (for now hehe) except for minor clutch mods suggested by mr viper. So with some work it can be done, also the conditions yeserday werent good for me, 5celcius above zero and slushy snow, all to help him.
