Thinking about hopping up an 700 sx...I realize that the sx will never make the hp of the srx but if close. I guess it comes down to hp/wt ratio? How much does an sx weigh and how much does the srx weigh?

actually with aftermarket triple pipes and porting you can make every bit of 145hp with a sx motor, but it wont get the gas mpg and the low end snap of a srx, the power valves and factory triple pipes on the srx are impossible to beat!

I know a guy with a 1997 sx that runs 1/4 mile blacktop, his best is 9.90's at 126mph it is 700cc,35mm flatslides, hauck howlers race ported. The sled weighs between 430-440 lbs.

i dunno about weight, but i do know my sxr with psi tripples, and some other mods absolutely rips after i got it tuned right. seen 192 kmh on the speedo. and it definately feels lighter than my srx you really notice it in the handling i find.

I always see guys doing up SXs and was wondering what the difference is between the SX and my XTC. Can I fit triples on mine with the electric start and reverse on or would they have to be removed?

some pipes you can but most won't fit.The only difference really is long travel suspension.

yamahaha:

my sx 800 with bender triples, tunnel heat exchangers, reverse, 192 megabites, full fluids & 7 gal.gas weighs 535 lbs. on longacre digital scales.
my srx 835 with the same as above except 240 megabites weighs 555 lbs.
bender sx triples do fit with electric start & reverse.
