Any one know the production #'s on the 73 sr's

643 ?
433 ?
292 ?

I talked to Gordy Muetz years ago about how many SR's and SSR Yamaha made. He told me 150 of each size SR (292, 433, 643) and 150 total SSR's (100 US, 50 Can & Eur) and extra parts for 50 more SSR's. All of Grodys old information, notes, yamaha race history went into a dumpster when Yamaha moved him from California to Yamaha's R&D in Coon Rapids, Minnesota in 1992.

My SR chassis number is #858-001206 yes its a 643 chassis with the 292 motor

that info from clay is that the numbers produced? i can not believe it would be that low. werent there minimum production requirements?

about that gyt kit fact. what would the gyt kit for the 73 SR 433 have been? it came with RC cylinders what could be better than those?

For 1973 yamaha made 150 of each (per Gordy, per requirements).
I don't know about 71 & 72, I didn't ask at the time.

Clay has been tracking down what SR's are still around US and Can for years. Thats all he has found per his info from 2004.

The 1973 SR 433 GYT kit was 63 pieces. Big parts are:
2 new Cyl's
2 new pistons
Circle M fuel injection
2 new pipes

do you know what the casting code on the cylinders was? also they were using the fuel injection in 73? was it the same size as the later injection with 45 mm bore? 73 SR 433 had 50 mm intake though.....

SR's

I have an SR , it was a 292 Chassis and was converted at the dealer from a 292 to a 433, Rutman Enterprises in Dearborn, Michigan performed this change when the sled was brand new. I bought the sled from the original owner who bought it brand new with the conversion. I am working on assembling the sled.
How about that Clay Stroup!

I have 3 SRs
One is a 856 frame with a 643 RC motor
Another is an 857 frame with a 643 RB motor
The 3rd one is an 857 frame with another 643 RB motor.
Could someone tell me the difference between the RB and RC 643 motor ?
