im lookin to buy a local venom over the summer, i was already looking for some upgrades such as aftermarket transfer rods and a better track, i have a firecat track laying around(ripsaw) and i was wondering if it would fit, tracksusa sells extentions for it but im wanting to kno if the cogs match, my dad's viper has 4 cogs i think so im assuming the venom does too, should i remove the outter two cogs and just run the middle two? any info would be awsome, thanx

The Firecat track will not fit on a Venom. The Firecat track is 13.5 x 128 and a Venom uses a 15 x 121 track. The 07 and 08 F series sleds use a 15 x 128 track. I do not know if the Tracks USA rail extensions are adjustable to work with a 128" track. Not sure about the rest. G.B.

When did a firecat use a ripsaw? The one i know of them using is a 14" wide hacksaw.

Alot of people put rip saws on there firecats.

Tracks usa does make rail extensions to go to 128" many people have done it on the 4 stroke side. You could make the track work but it wouldn't be very trailable. You would nee to remove the transfer rods comletely move your top whels in and take off all your ou side wheels.I have done it before to make a 10 5/8" track fit for asphalt, but like I said it wil ride like crap on the trail.I suggest you sell the track and look for a new one or good used one. There are some great deals on here once and a whil on tracks.

can a venom be ridden without the transfer rods, they have the same job as any sled with blocks and i can take the blocks out of my cat so can i run the venom without transfer rods, and y will it ride like crap the 128 bridges bumps better

the way the yamaha pro action is designed the sled will ratchet the track so bad if you just take them off.

I would go with a predator 6 pitch 1 1/4".I like that track way better than the ripsaw. The rip saw has a little better traction on hard pack but the six pitch is a lot better on the loose snow and way more durable.

I agree. If someone is looking i may be pulling out my brand new 136 1.25" ripsaw and putting in a 1.25" six pitch. The ripsaw is amazing on trails but i do A LOT of off trail and the predator better suits me.

I run tracks usa 128 rail extensions and a firecat speed track on my 02 viper. Works great. no problems. But i changed the extensions a little though. I had two alum 8" billet wheels laying around and a couple plastic 8" wheels i got from tracks usa. So i machined the slot up 7/16 and foward 1 1/2 and now have and 8" straight axle. worked out great. Just hade to narrow up the outer spacers on the axle some. looks and works great. Raced it all winter.

o great sxr, so if i use stock wheels i shouldnt have to change the extentions, and then i still have to narrow the spacers or shold i just not run outter wheels like my F6

lol not to get off topic but can i get a few pics of your sled, track/suspension set up and a few of the over all sled, thanx
