Ok, you old timers......... 
did the 1981 SRX & 84 Phazer both have aluminum drive axles and did either have anything other than steel jackshafts ? If so, would they fit a Phazer II or Vmax540 ? Thanks

CHUCK, I SAY NO TO YOUR 81 SRX AND 84 PHAZER ALUMINUM DRIVE AXLE QUESTION. I ALSO SAY NO TO ANYTHING ELSE BUT STEEL JACKSHAFTS. GUESS YOU NEED TO MATCH THEM UP AND THAN CHECK PART # s. Tylers 81 SRX is definately aluminum, just wondered if all 81's were and I seem to recall that I read where the 84 Phazers were the lightest of all the 84-89 Phazers because of........(?) something that and was changed on the the 85's on up to reduce cost ?

All 5 of my 1981 srx,s have aluminum drive shafts.
